What is Tip4Tab?
Tip4Tab is a tipping app for service workers such as bartenders, servers, baristas and stylists. Each worker gets a personal tip page and QR code. Customers scan it, choose an amount and pay with Apple Pay or a card.
Do I need an app or an account to tip?
No. Point your phone camera at the worker's QR code and their tip page opens in your browser. There is no app to install and no account to create.
How do I tip without cash?
Scan the worker's Tip4Tab QR code, choose an amount from $5 to $200, and pay with Apple Pay or a card. You get a receipt afterwards.
Which payment methods can I use to tip?
You can pay with Apple Pay or a card.
Who receives the tip?
The worker who served you. Tips go straight to the worker's own account, not into a shared pool or to the house. Payments are handled by Stripe.
What does Tip4Tab cost?
Tip4Tab charges a 7% Tip4Tab fee on each tip, plus a card processing fee (2.9% + $0.30 for US cards). There is no subscription and no setup cost. By default the tipper covers the fees, so the worker receives the full tip. A tipper can choose not to, and then the fees come out of the tip.
When does a worker get paid?
Tips arrive in the worker's wallet. Once a tip clears, withdraw to your bank whenever you want. Standard payouts usually arrive in 2 business days.
Do I get a receipt when I tip?
Yes. You get an itemized receipt that shows the tip and the fees. You can download it.
How does a worker get a tip QR code?
Join the beta and sign up with a phone number. Verify with a code, add a name and photo, and you get a personal QR code and a tip page. Then connect a payout so tips can reach your bank.
Can a business use Tip4Tab for its team?
Each worker signs up for their own tip page. Tips go to each worker's own account, and the venue never holds the funds.
Is Tip4Tab available now?
Tip4Tab is in beta. You can join on iPhone through Apple TestFlight. Android is coming later, and there is no App Store listing yet.
