How QR code tipping works
A QR code tip jar is a code a customer scans to open a tip page, where they pick an amount and pay. With Tip4Tab the tip goes straight to the worker.
Step 1: the worker sets up a tip page
The worker signs up with a phone number, adds a name and photo, and gets a personal tip page and QR code.
Step 2: the QR code goes where customers can see it
On a table tent, a badge, a lanyard or a link in bio. It is the digital version of a tip jar on the counter.
Step 3: the customer scans
They point their phone camera at the code. The tip page opens in their browser, with no app and no account.
Step 4: the customer picks an amount and pays
They choose an amount from $5 to $200 and pay with Apple Pay or a card. They get a receipt.
Step 5: the worker gets paid
The tip lands in the worker's wallet. Once a tip clears, withdraw to your bank whenever you want. Standard payouts usually arrive in 2 business days.
What it costs
Tip4Tab charges a 7% Tip4Tab fee on each tip, plus a card processing fee. By default the tipper covers both, so the worker receives the full tip. A tipper can choose not to, and then the fees come out of the tip. See pricing for examples.
